Women's Padded Sole Slippers

MATERIALS
4 ply worsted weight yarn
Hook - 5.00mm or H hook
Note: These slippers will stretch after
wearing. So for a more snug fit use a smaller
size hook, such as 4.5mm or 4.00mm
For padding -
You can buy an insole or for extra cushioning
cut a piece of foam to fit.
Will fit a 9 to 10 inch foot.

To make 3 dc tog: Yarn over, insert hook in first stitch, yarn over and pull up a
loop, yarn over and pull through two loops on hook. Yarn over and
insert into second stitch, yarn over and pull up a loop, yarn over and pull
through two loops on hook. Yarn over and insert into third stitch, yarn
over and pull up a loop, yarn over and pull through two loops on hook, yarn over and pull through all four loops on hook.

SOLE
Ch 8
ROW 1 - 2 sc in third ch from hook, 1 sc in next 4 chs, 2 sc in last ch, ch 1, turn. (8 sc)
All Stitches in remaining rows are through the Back Loops only.
ROW 2 - 2 sc in first sc, 1 sc in next 6 sc, 2 sc in last sc, ch 1, turn. (10 sc)
ROW 3 - 2 sc in first sc, 1 sc in next 8 sc, 2 sc in last sc, ch 1, turn. (12 sc)
ROWS 4 to 18 - 1 sc in each sc, ch 1, turn. (12 sc)
ROW 19 - 2 sc tog, 1 sc in next 8 sc, 2 sc tog, ch 1, turn. (10 sc)
ROWS 20 to 34 - 1 sc in each sc, ch 1, turn. (10 sc)
ROW 35 - 2 sc tog, 1 sc in next 6 sc, 2 sc tog, ch 1, turn. (8 sc)
ROW 36 - 2 sc tog, 1 sc in next 4 sc, 2 sc tog, ch 1, turn. (6 sc)

Next, sc all around the sole:
ss in the next 2 sc. In the next sc - ss, ch 1 and 1 sc.1 sc in next sc. Continue by placing 1
sc at the end of each Row (37 sc). You now have a total of 39 sc. Place 6 sc along the
back of the starting chain. You now have 45 sc. Place 1 sc at the end of each Row (37 sc).
You now have 82 sc. 1 sc in the next 2 ss. Total 84 sc. ss to join to the first sc. (take note
of the first sc as you will begin joining the next sole there. Fasten off,
Make another sole as above, do not fasten off. Put the first sole under this sole. Put an
insole or cut a piece of foam to fit in between the two soles. (I used a piece of foam
with a half inch thickness). Ch 1 and make 1 sc by going through the first sc loops of both soles.
Continue with sc all around both soles together to beg, ss to join. (84 ss)
BODY OF SLIPPER
If you are changing colors for the body of the slipper, do it here. If not, continue
with the same color as the sole.
Note: always begin each Rnd in the first st and not the ss where you joined)
RND 1 - Through back loops only, 1 sc in each ss, ss to join, ch 1, turn. (84 sc)
The rest of the body of the slipper is through both loops.
RND 2 - 1 sc in each sc, ss to join, ch 1, turn. (84 sc)
RND 3 - 1 sc in next 27 sc, 2 sc tog, (1 sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc tog) seven times, 1 sc in next
27 sc, ss to join, ch 1, turn. (76 sc)
RND 4 - 1 sc in next 33 sc, 1 hdc in next sc, 3 dc tog, 1 dc in next 2 sts, 3 dc tog, 1 hdc
in next sc, 1 sc in next 33 sc, ss to join, ch 1, turn. (72 sts)
RND 5 - 1 sc in next 30 sc, 1 hdc in next sc, 3 dc tog, 1 dc in next 4 sts, 3 dc tog, 1 hdc
in next sc, 1 sc in next 30 sc, ss to join, ch 1, turn. (68 sts)
RND 6 - 1 sc in next 27 sc, 1 hdc in next sc, 3 dc tog, 1 dc in next 6 sts, 3 dc tog, 1 hdc

sts, skip 2 sts, 1 sc in next 9 sts, (2 sc tog, 1 sc in next sc) three times, ss to join.
If you are not going to make the fold down top, continue by doing one more Rnd of
1 sc in each sc, then fasten off.
If you are going to make make the fold down top, fasten off after RND 11 and
continue below.
Fold Down Top
Hold slipper with toe end facing you, count to the 14th stitch on the right hand side from
the back where you joined on Rnd 11. Join yarn there.
All stitches are through back loops only. Working towards the heel of the slipper,
continue as follows:
Row 1 - ch 1 and 1 sc in first sc, 1 sc in next 12 sc, 2 sc in next sc, 1 sc in next sc, (skip
over the ss where you joined on Rnd 11) 1 sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc, 1 sc in next 12 sc,
ch 1, turn. (30 sc)
Row 2 - 1 sc in next 13 sc, 2 sc in next sc, 1 sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc, 1 sc in next 13
sc, ch 1, turn. (32 sc)
Rows 3 to 15 - 1 sc in each sc. (you can add a few more rows here if you like)
Next, ch 1, make 1 sc at the end of every second row of the fold down top, 1 sc in the 8 sc
across the front, 1 sc at the end of every second row of the fold down top, ss in the end of
the last row, fasten off.
