Hello Everyone, My new Crocheted Moccasin Slippers pattern is online. You can get it at http://crochetandknitting.com/mocslip.htm Thanks to Terri for inspiring me to make this new version. (She is a website visitor, not sure if she has subscribed to this newsletter or not) She was trying to make my earlier moccasin slippers pattern in a heavier yarn and of course they came out much too big. So that got me thinking about doing a design with double strands of worsted weight yarn and re-designing the pattern to make them much easier. So they should also be easy for beginners. The hardest part may be the top, however, it's not hard at all when you know exactly what to do. Sometimes trying to explain it in a pattern can be difficult to get across, so I have included lots of photos showing exactly how to do it. (I enjoyed playing with my new digital camera, too.) My upcoming design is inspired by newsletter subscriber, Olly. She loved the Crocheted Moccasin slippers, however she only knits. She asked if there was a knit version. I have never designed a knit pattern, other than the socks and mittens that I used to knit but never wrote those patterns down. I thought it would be impossible to make a knit version of the moccasin slippers, however, while taking the time to meditate on it, the answers started coming. So I have started this new project and it is going very well. I should have it completed and on my site sometime next week. I will send another newsletter at that time to let you all know. That is all for today. Have a great weekend and stop by my site whenever you get the chance http://www.crochetandknitting.com Also, feel free to stop by my Pattern Search and Crafts Discussions forum at http://pub44.bravenet.com/forum/3703436600 It started out (several years ago) as a forum for helping each other to find patterns online, however discussions about crafts are very welcome. So feel free to stop by and chat, even if only to introduce yourself. There are a lot of great people there.
Sincerely,
Sue Norrad |
