Saturday, August 18, 2007 Hello Everyone, I was looking for an easy and fast knitted dishcloth pattern and couldn't find any that I really wanted to make, so I came up with one of my own.
Sue's Easy Knit Dishcloth This should be great for beginners. It's so easy and fast and it looks really nice as well! ==> Socks Tips Laura had some great ideas for my crocheted socks pattern. She has shared the following with me and she gave me permission to share it with you as well. "I changed a few things in your patt to go with the LB Magic Stripes yarn. I used a G hook instead of an H. The Magic stripes is a #2 yarn & the H hook seemed to make the stitches too big. When starting the foot of the sock after ribbing, i use a hook one size smaller (in this case an F) for the first row around tube of ribbing....i find it that it doesn't bunch out & it's much easier to get into the stitches. I also used one size smaller hook for Rnd 1 in "continue with the rest of the foot" (first row working into sides of heel)....once again, this makes it easier to get into the stitches. Even though i was working with a smaller yarn & hook... i only had to add 2 extra rows before starting decrease for foot. The only thing i'll probably change with the next pair i make is working in the round for the foot part instead of turning. I didn't realize until i finished my first sock that "magic striping" will only work in the round!" Thank you Laura! Laura asked if the pattern can be worked in the round instead of ch 1 and turn. Certainly it can. Instead of ch 1 and turn, ch 1 and make your sc in the same stitch where you joined and made the ch 1.
My socks patterns are here:
I also have a template that you can use to adjust
the socks for different sizes ==> The New Forum The New Craft Discussions and Pattern Search Forum is coming along great! We already have some great discussions going on. Come and check it out http://crochetandknitting.com/cgi-bin/iB_cgi/ikonboard.cgi I know that some of the long time users of the old forum don't really like the new forum. But, if you give it a try I'm sure you will find it much easier to use. To help you out, here's some tips: When you enter the forum, you will see this link: "General Craft Discussions and Pattern Search This forum is to discuss anything about crafts and to help each other find patterns. WELCOME and come on in!" Click on that link and it takes you right to the main discussion board. Everything will be there. I have no plans of making sub-forums for different topics at this time, as that can be confusing. I thought I had the forum set so you have to register to post but apparently I don't. I will keep it that way for awhile so you can come in and try it out without registering. If spammers start to be a problem, I will have to change it. - On the new forum, you can preview your posts before submitting. - You can edit your posts after. That is a great feature if you find that you had made a mistake in your post. - You can track any topics. Just scroll down below the last post and click on "Track This Topic". An email will be sent to notify you that someone has posted in that topic. So that's a great way to know if someone has replied to you. - You can change the color of the text of your posts by going into "Your Control Panel". Click on the tab that says "Personal Info". Then click on "Edit Your Profile". Scroll down to the bottom and you will find where you can change your "Post Color". You can also add a signature line in this section. It will automatically be displayed in your posts. - Also under "Personal Info", you can add a Avatar. An Avatar is a picture, could be clipart or any of your own personal photos. There are quite a few things you can do in your Control Panel. Just go in and click around to find out. So, we hope to see you there! http://crochetandknitting.com/cgi-bin/iB_cgi/ikonboard.cgi That is all for today. Have a great weekend. Sincerely,
Sue Norrad |
