Thursday, May 17, 2007 Hello Everyone, It's been a month since I sent out the last newsletter. I have been busy with spring cleaning both inside and outside as well as gardening, as I know most of you have been too. Some updates: Olly has sent me some beautiful pictures of her Knitted Slip Stitch Slippers she made from my pattern. Olly's pictures are on that page. I am working on a new crochet pattern. This is something different that I have never tried before. It is crocheted skorts. A skort is half shorts and half skirt. They look like a skirt from the front and shorts from the back. This is still a work in progress, however I do have my first one completed, but it came out too big for me. I have my instructions typed up from my hand written copy and I took some pictures. I have put this copy on my new blog if you want to see it and try a pair yourself. But, remember, this is my first copy, there could be a lot of mistakes and typos. I am doing another pair now in dark blue to test the pattern and correct mistakes as I go. I am making this pair smaller but I am keeping the larger instructions for those who want to make a bigger pair. It will be very easy to modify the size simply by reducing or increasing the starting chain. You can find out more details and see the pattern on my new blog. I may be discontinuing this newsletter and simply post all new information and updates on my blog. You can make comments on my blog, which I have set so I can see them first so I can delete any spam posts. I know that crafters would not do that, but there are those who simply search out blogs so they can post junk. I will think more on going to a blog only instead of a newsletter before I make a decision. On my forum MaryEllen posted that she was looking for the Mr. Flurry Snowman pattern which was on the freepatterns.com site but is no longer there. I went through the site and could not find it either. However, when I did a google search it came up and it is on freepatterns.com. I guess they don't link to any older patterns they have on their site. I always tell everyone, if you find a pattern online that you like, print it out now instead of just saving the link. The link could be gone at anytime. MaryEllen emailed me and said she couldn't get the pattern to download. So I had downloaded it with no problems and emailed it to her. However, it bounced back to me saying it was undeliverable. I emailed it to her again and never heard if she got it or not, but I hope she did! That is all for today. Thank you for reading! Sincerely,
Sue Norrad |
