Tuesday, April 17, 2007 Hello Everyone, I hope many of you are enjoying spring. It seems spring has decided to stay away for awhile here in my part of the world. We had two big snowstorms already in April and it's snowing again today..... Oh well, it has to melt off sometime. My daffodils think so anyway, as they are trying to grow in spite of the snow.
Craft Articles:
Hooks and Needles: The metric size of a hook or needle is the measurement of the width. For example, if you take a 5 mm needle and measure it with a metric tape measure, you will see that the width of that needle is 5 mm. I am not sure what the USA and English sizes mean as they are definitely not the widths of the hook or needles. So to find the equivalent size of needles and hooks, I have some charts on my site that would be helpful: http://crochetandknitting.com/charts.htm For example, if you wanted to find the hook equivalent to size 10 USA needles, you will see that in millimeters (mm) they are 6 mm. On the hook chart it says a 6 mm metric hook is J-10 USA and 4 English.

Knit Slippers: Then I made a pair in dark blue for the main and a very pretty variegated yarn for the second color. Now I am working on a pair done in the same variegated blue as the main color and black as the second color. They look fantastic! When I finish those, I think I will put the pattern down for awhile. I don't want to wear it out...lol But it was so much fun doing the different color combinations. That is all for today. Thank you for reading! Sincerely,
